Question 1: Why can the dashcam not be activated by only inserting the red line (ACC)?

Answer: The red line (ACC) is a signal line and the yellow line (BAT) is the power line. When you connect the yellow line (BAT), it can start directly. However, if only the yellow line (BAT) is connected, the car battery will be damaged.

Question 2: Why do I need the red line (ACC)?

Answer: The red line (ACC) is a signal line. When the yellow line (BAT) is connected to the battery for parking monitoring or motion detection and the battery voltage is below 11.6 V, the dashcam will automatically shut down. If you do not connect the red line (ACC), it cannot detect the signal that you have turned on your car, the chipset of the hardwire kit stops supplying power and the dashcam cannot start. Therefore, the red line (ACC) is for signal detection and must be connected together with the yellow line (BAT) and the black line (GND) in the car.
