1. It is important to change your region code, if you do not do this the item will not work. See the FAQ on how to change this (see below)
2. Make sure the laptop has sufficient power, low capacity may cause the device not to be recognised.
3. The newly released Windows system has stopped the internal DVD media player software. Customers using Windows 10 and above are advised to install VLC Media Player to play DVDs and CDs.
4. Some external devices require sufficient power to work properly, so make sure your laptop is connected to the mains or use a powered USB hub on the notebook.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Q1: CD not recognised.
A: This is caused by disabling the auto-run function of the CD drive. Enable the auto-run function via the computer's control panel.
Q2: Is it possible to change the region code?
A: You can change it up to 5 times. After opening Control Panel System and Security from Start, click Device Manager in the System section. The drive you are currently using is shown under the item named DVD/CD-ROM drives. You can change this by right-clicking and selecting DVD region in the menu.
Q3: CD stuck
A: 1. This can happen if there is insufficient power supply, you must connect the DVD drive to the USB port on the laptop. Also connect the item to the USB port at the back of the computer host if you are using a desktop.
2. Check if the CD is not scratched and not warped.
3. Eject CD by pressing the eject button on the computer.
Q4: The driver is not recognised by the computer or it cannot play the CD properly.
A: 1. The DVD drive must be connected to a USB port on the laptop instead of a USB HUB. Also connect the item to the USB port at the back of the computer host if you are using a desktop.
2. Make sure the CD is properly placed and not scratched.
3. Ensure built-in practical driver software. Or try with another computer.
4. Set the area code based on different regions.
Q5: It is very noisy.
A: Some DVDs are thicker than regular discs, it is a normal phenomenon with some noise. But make sure the CD is properly placed and not scratched.
Q6: Problems with burning
A: Blank CD is not formatted, download NERO software to complete the setting and add what you want to burn. Usually works well with CDs in formats: WAV, MP3, MP4, etc.
