Solutions and tips:
1. Always remove the phone case: Even thin cases can cause the lens clip to sit crooked.
2. Make sure the lens is exactly centred on the main camera
For example, place your finger on each camera in the camera app to see which lens affects the image — that is the lens the clip should be centred on.

3. Use only the standard lens (wide)

Some smartphones automatically switch to wide-angle or telephoto. Then use:

- Open Camera (Android)

- Halide or ProCamera (iOS)
to manually select the lens.

4. Light vignetting can be corrected afterwards

Via post-processing in an app like Snapseed, Lightroom or even Instagram, light vignetting can be corrected.
But the goal is obviously to prevent it during shooting.

5. Check the lens itself for dust or incorrect assembly

If the supplied lens is not screwed properly into the holder, it can also cause the edge.

6. See black edges in the image? Then zoom in a little (e.g. to 1.2x or 1.5x) with your camera app. The edges will then disappear and you will have a nice, full image.
