HDMI to HDMI audio extractor: The HA3 HDMI optical audio adapter is designed to extract the digital audio embedded in the HDMI source and output it via optical SPDIF or RCA L/R stereo audio output. The original video/audio signal is also passed through to the HDMI output. You can then send the split audio to an amplifier, AV receiver, soundbar or other sound systems.

Note not every soundbar can be used.

4K/2K high video resolution: HDMI audio converter supports resolution up to 2160p @ 30Hz/1080p @ 50/60Hz/1080i/720p/1576i/480p/480i and 36-bit deep colours. Support for audio format: DTS-HD/Dolby-trueHD.

Note: this HDMI audio extractor does not support ARC.

Three audio mode options: The HA3 HDMI audio adapter connects with PASS, 2CH, 5.1CH. Additionally, there is RCA L/R output support PASS 2CH PC and optical SPDIF output support PASS 2CH PCM, 5.1CH Dolby Digital, DTS

Three audio mode settings:

PASS mode: The audio output format depends on the HDMI input signal.

2CH mode: Set 2CH to get analogue stereo audio. Extract the digital 2CH PCM stereo audio signal from the HDMI input and simultaneously convert it to 2CH analogue stereo output via the RCA L/R analogue/optical SPDIF output.

5.1CH mode: set 5.1CH to get 5.1 digital surround. (Note HDMI input source must support 5.1CH), which can be extracted via optical SPDIF output.

Note: if you choose optical audio output, you can enjoy 5.1CH or 2CH or the pass audio mode. If you choose L/R audio out, you can enjoy the 2CH or pass mode.

Note: The sound going to the HDMI OUT is determined by the EDID switch. That switch does NOT ONLY control the extracted audio. So if you want to pass the original video and audio to an AV receiver to drive a multichannel system (5.1, etc.) and TV, you must set the switch to TV or 5.1.
